THE APPROACH

What is
Zero Balancing?

Zero Balancing (ZB) is a powerful body-mind therapy developed in the 1970s by Dr. Fritz Frederick Smith, MD — an osteopath and acupuncturist whose life work bridged Western medicine with Eastern energy concepts.

ZB works with the relationship between energy and structure in the body, particularly at the level of bone — the densest tissue and the primary conductor of energy in the body. Through skilled touch called fulcrums, practitioners invite the body's inherent intelligence to reorganize, release tension, and restore balance.

A ZB session leaves clients feeling deeply relaxed, clearer, and more themselves — often described as a sense of expanded well-being that lasts well beyond the session itself.

Energy & Structure

The foundational insight of Zero Balancing is that the body has both a physical structure and an energy body, and that these are inseparable. True health requires balance in both.

The Fulcrum

A fulcrum is a specific point of stillness held by the practitioner that allows the client's sytems to reorganise and balance.

Working Signs

During a ZB session, the body communicates its response through working signs — small spontaneous movements, sighs, a change in breathing, or a wave through the body.

The Interface

The ZB interface is the clear, conscious point of connection between practitioner and client — held with just enough presence to engage both energy and structure without intrusion.

" The goal of Zero Balancing
is to create a moment of clarity

— a still point from which the body can reorganize
toward greater health and well-being. "
